  1. Football fitness IS part of football itself – there is no need for “balance”. Football fitness can be understood as the basic and fundamental ability to do more football “stuff” in the same period of time. 

  2. Do not go ahead and train running for the sake of training. Consider that RUNNING is only 1 way of executing decisions, AND it is only 1 part of football actions. 

  3. Match day +1 is complex: but make sure that it is FOOTBALL and GAME specific. Yes, even directly after the match, you need to think about what you can do to get the game analysis and football fitness for subs in.
